Fremont Danceworks Junior Company

The 2017-18 school year marks the return of the Fremont Danceworks Junior Company!

The Junior Company is open to students in levels 4 and 5, in order to give them more performance and learning opportunities, and prepare them for future participation as a full company member in Fremont Danceworks

Dancers in the Junior Company will start rehearsing in January to perform in the April Fremont Danceworks concert in a piece choreographed specifically for them. Additionally, during the rehearsal process they will have seminars on subjects that support their dancing, which may include subjects such as professional strategies for learning and rehearsing choreography, functional anatomy, and other topics of interest to the group. They will also have the opportunity to observe some of the Fremont Danceworks company rehearsals, which provides a valuable early look at the experience of working with professional choreographers

Most rehearsals will be Saturdays, 2 or 2:30 till around 4. There may be additional rehearsals as the performances approach, including Dress Rehearsal the evening of Thursday March 29th. The Ballet 4 class 11:30-1 is available as a warm up class for the Ballet 5 students. The Fremont Danceworks concerts are on Friday March 30th, Saturday March 31st, Friday April 6th and Saturday April 7th. Participants must maintain excellent attendance in technique classes, be responsible for making up any classes they miss, and fully commit to the rehearsal process. Additionally, participants are expected to act as positive role models within their classes, and as ambassadors for Dance Fremont in the community. As part of their company responsibilities, they will be expected to sell 10 tickets to the performances, and to participate in fundraising and/or publicity for the performances. The fee for the Fremont Danceworks Junior Company is $350.
